Genevieve Pellegrini
Estate and elder law attorney
People call me Gen. I started this practice so families could get a straight answer from the lawyer, not the lawyer’s assistant’s assistant.
Before law school I answered phones at a county records office. People came to the counter carrying shoeboxes, and nobody ever had the one paper the clerk asked for. I went to law school to fix that, and I have been fixing it, one kitchen table at a time, since.
The office is two rooms on Mendocino Avenue, with a kettle and a bowl of lemons on the desk. I take a limited number of families each month, so I can call back the same day and visit a home or a hospital room when a signing can’t wait.
Behind the building there is a strip of poppies and lupine that I never planted. That is where the firm’s name comes from.
